Our philosophy
At The Limes, we support each young person to build confidence, develop independence and enjoy a meaningful life within their local community. We want the young people we support to access everyday opportunities, develop lifelong skills and build positive relationships with the people around them.

We provide specialist residential support in a safe, calm and well-planned environment. Our aim is for every young person we support to experience a good quality of life, with opportunities to build relationships, make choices and be part of their local community.
We support young people to develop greater independence in an environment that offers warmth, security, consistency and understanding. A purposeful and calm atmosphere is encouraged through the professional approach adopted by all colleagues. Trust and positive relationships between the young people we support and colleagues are at the heart of our service.
Equality and diversity: We support young people to express their individuality, culture, beliefs, identity and preferences, and we are committed to creating an inclusive environment for everyone.
Advocacy: Everyone we support at The Limes has access to independent advocacy services commissioned by Hesley Group.
Planning for the future: We help young people prepare for their future by providing a wide range of opportunities for learning and development, appropriate to the needs and wishes of each young person. We think that it is important to understand people’s hopes and wishes for their future by working closely with them and their families. Whenever possible we support them to achieve their aspirations.
Close support: We take a positive approach to risk management, based on a full understanding of the needs of each young person. We work consultatively with the young person and all other key parties in designing individualised care and support. We monitor and regularly review all assessments, progress and outcomes.
Opportunities for growth: A strong emphasis is placed on offering interesting activities away from The Limes. There are also many opportunities within the service for young people to develop meaningful skills, as well as initiatives to access employment, further education and other community facilities and services.
Partnership working, clear and positive communication and respectful and collaborative relationships are seen as vital to supporting young people well.
