With over 25 years of experience in neuroscience and adult psychiatry, my approach is rooted in compassion and evidence-based practice, allowing me to specialise in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of a wide range of mental health conditions, including anxiety disorders, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), personality disorders, bipolar disorder, and Adult ADHD.
I earned my medical degree from Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland, in 1997 and moved to the UK to further develop my professional expertise. I have since completed postgraduate diplomas in Cognitive Therapy from the University of Oxford in 2010 and Clinical Psychiatry from Cardiff University in 2013. These qualifications have enhanced my ability to provide integrated care that combines psychotherapy and psychiatry.
Since joining Hesley Group in 2016, I have been providing psychiatric support for individuals living in Hesley Group services. I am particularly committed to reducing the overmedication of people with learning disabilities and autistic individuals, aligning with the goals of the NHS England STOMP program. I work collaboratively with individuals, their families, and support teams to ensure that mental health needs are addressed holistically and effectively.
Over the course of my career, I have gained extensive experience in a variety of psychiatric settings, including social care, general adult psychiatry hospitals, addiction rehabilitation centres, and forensic units across low, medium, and high-security levels. My dual qualifications in clinical psychiatry and Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy (CBT) enable me to develop highly personalised treatment plans that often prioritise non-pharmacological interventions when appropriate.
In addition to my role at Hesley Group, I have been the founder and director of North Lakeside Medical Ltd. since 2010. Through this platform, I have collaborated with leading providers of psychiatric care to deliver tailored mental health services that emphasise long-term recovery and wellness.
I am also an expert panel member at Myogenes, a UK leader in pharmacogenomic testing. Using DNA analysis, I prescribe psychiatric medications with precision, improving treatment outcomes and minimising side effects. This innovative approach reflects my dedication to providing highly individualised care to each patient.
