Established in 1975, the Hesley Group provides flexible, specialist residential services and schools. We aim to offer the best possible care, education and vocational opportunities for young people and adults, often with autism, who have a learning disability and complex needs including behaviour that may challenge.
Fullerton House School is a specialist residential school, offering flexible education and care for up to 52 weeks per year, for young people aged 8 to 19. All of our young people have complex needs including behaviour that may challenge and a learning disability, often in association with autism.
At Fullerton House School, young people live in the heart of the community, in an urban setting with facilities including a local sports centre with swimming pool, supermarket, outdoor market, shops, playgrounds, cafés, restaurants and large open spaces for outdoor activities.
We are now seeking to appoint a Practice Lead at Fullerton House School to oversee the health and wellbeing of the School and also the adult provision. The post holder will be an experienced practitioner who is able to demonstrate a very high level of personal and professional skills in the care of people with learning disabilities, autism and whose behaviour challenges services to meet their needs.
The post holder will be responsible for all health needs ensuring our students are getting the correct medical support by accessing the right services, dental, opthalmic, GP, etc depending upon their individual needs. You will be required to provide support guidance and training as required or facilitate external training depending on needs. You will be required to work independently and autonomously and be acountable for your own area of practice, with the aim of ensuring that the quality of support is continually improved.
You will use advanced clinical practice and extended knowledge base to provide specialist advice to multi disciplinary teams to support the achievement of excellent outcomes for the people we support.
The role is a co-ordinators role, co-ordinating MDT meeting and clinics with psychiatry. The MDT's focus is to provide exceptional support; safeguard and promote the needs of the people we support and a company who values its employees.
Your role is to ensure that the Health Equalities Framework (HEF) is maintained and outcomes are measured effectively. You will be a role model in promoting STOMP (Stop the over medication of people with learning disabilities/autism) in conjunction with the clinical team.
This is a varied and exciting role that allows autonomy in developing the role within the service.
