Our Therapeutic
Services
Positive behaviour support (PBS) is the framework we use for everything we do. It is values driven, evidence-based and practical.
Focusing on people’s rights provides the ethical compass which guides our approach to working with people. We understand that behaviours that challenge arise from an interaction between a person’s needs and the environment and strive to provide capable support environments which maximise learning. Holistic assessment enables high quality personalised support to achieve outcomes for people which are meaningful. PBS is a compassionate approach to supporting people to have a good quality of life and in doing so, minimises the risk of behaviours of concern.

We've been busy with #gardening jobs over the past few weeks at Meadow View, sowing garlic, carrots and radishes outside & five types of tomatoes inside. We've also created a noticeboard so that everyone can see what's happening each month with gardening. #residentialcare #LD
Recently a young man, and his support staff from Low Laithes, enjoyed a trip to #Manchester where he visited the market to get himself a t-shirt printed with a dragon on for the Chinese #YearoftheDragon, visited a local supermarket and went for a meal. #adultsocialcare #LDCare
At Low Laithes, we have been enjoying some new sessions at the YMCA sports hall in #Barnsley. So far we have enjoyed playing football, basketball and parachute games. This is a great winter activity to keep up our physical activity out of the cold. #socialcareactivities
The Speech & Language Team at Meadow View ran a Sensory Story Session in the Clinical Space on Thursday afternoon to celebrate World Book Day! We had arts and crafts, messy play, water play, music and massage, to name a few. #worldbookday #sensory #socialcare
Earlier this week, a large group of supported people from Meadow View visited Airkings and everyone had a fantastic time. #socialcare #residentialcare
An individual from Low Laithes was recently supported to Whistlestop Valley in Huddersfield where he rode on Thomas the Tank Engine and also saw Percy. He had a wonderful time and laughed throughout the trip. #socialcare
At Meadow View last week, to mark the year of the Dragon for Chinese New Year, we made foil dragons for our windows. #yearofthedragon #socialcare #learningdisabilities
Meadow View's clinical team held their first Intensive Interaction Café on Thursday 22/02/24. We had such a great time spent looking at different sensory items, making some sticker art, and interacting with staff. #clinicalsupport #ldcare #carehome
On Tuesday 20th February we had a lovely 80s Themed Meal and Disco at Meadow View. Everyone had lots of fun with some even getting dressed up for lots of dancing to 80s classics. #ldcare #residentialcare #adultsocialcare
Our gardening jobs here at Meadow View are coming on nicely. A couple of weeks ago, individuals we support sowed early peas and sweet peas in cardboard tubes. We've also put maincrop seed potatoes in egg boxes to chit, weeded beds & put goodness back into the soil with manure.
Earlier this month a group of people from Meadow View visited the retro gaming 'Arcade Warehouse'. We had lots of fun on all the computer games and some of us even tried the new Virtual Reality Ride. Lots of fun was had by all.
At the end of January Low Laithes participated in a number of activities, some of which included a swimming trip to Inspired Day Care Services, making Dundee Cake and square sausages for burns night and fun Makaton choir sessions. #barnsley #adultsocialcare #learningdisability
