Assistant Psychologist (Clinical) at Hesley Village
I have been working at Hesley Village since February 2016 as an Assistant Psychologist (Clinical). My role primarily involves working alongside the Clinical Psychologist to conduct psychology assessments, clinical formulation of people’s difficulties, clinical risk assessment, Functional Behavioural Assessment, positive behavioural support planning and psychological interventions. I thoroughly enjoy the variety within my role and find it extremely rewarding.
I graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2011 with a BSc (Hons) in Psychology and I am a graduate member of the British Psychological Society. I started my career working as a support worker with people with a learning disability and then as a mental health recover worker for ‘Rethink’ a mental health charity. I have over six years’ experience working as an Assistant Psychologist within various fields, including health psychology, neuropsychology, older adult mental health, forensic settings, adult mental health including personality disorder and learning disability and autism services.
I am married and live in a small village with my husband and lively dalmatian. Outside of work I enjoy cooking and spending time with friends and family. I (and the dog) also enjoy long walks, particularly those with a pub lunch at the end of them.
I have always wanted to train to be a Clinical Psychologist and my future aim is to progress in completing a doctoral course in Clinical Psychology.
