Established in 1975, the Hesley Group provides flexible, specialist residential services and schools. We aim to offer the best possible care, education and vocational opportunities for young people and adults, often with autism, who have a learning disability and complex needs including behaviour that may challenge.  

Low Laithes is our adult service that is a former dairy farm that has been renovated and developed into a range of purpose built facilities. It is set in beautiful surroundings in rolling countryside near Wombwell Village and Barnsley town centre.

We are now looking to appoint a Sous Chef/2nd Chef at Low Laithes. The purpose of this post is to provide a comprehensive catering service for the people we support, employees, guests, visitors and families. With the support of the Chef Manager you will implement delivery of daily meals including ‘hands on’ catering input, to ensure all expectations, food hygiene and quality standards are met at all times.

As Sous Chef/2nd Chef you will be expected to deputise in the Chef Manager’s absence.

The successful candidate will hold a relevant qualification in catering at Diploma Level 2 (or equivalent) as well as proven experience of effectively supporting a team to deliver on catering solutions.
