What is Psychiatry?
Psychiatry is the branch of medicine dedicated to the understanding and treatment of mental health difficulties, including those experienced by people with autism and severe intellectual disabilities.
Who are we?
Two consultant psychiatrists, one a consultant in child and adolescent psychiatry, and one in the psychiatry of learning disabilities, provide regular clinics in our schools and adult services respectively.
What do we do?
Our psychiatrists provide expert advice and support to the local GPs, with whom our service users are registered, including recommendations on treatment, for any mental health needs of our service users.
