What is Interdisciplinary Working?

Each client in Hesley Group services is supported by a multidisciplinary team comprising support, education and clinical staff. Given the complexity of the needs of many of our service users, the goal of providing effective person-centred support requires the provision of integrated interventions, drawing on the skills and expertise of multiple professions.

Who are we?

Our interdisciplinary teams are led by our care managers and involve professionals in behaviour analysis, clinical psychology and speech and language therapy. We liaise closely with our colleagues in psychiatry. It is, however, the service user who is at the centre of the process of planning appropriate and effective supports.

What do we do?

In each residential area, the multidisciplinary team meets weekly to review in detail the effectiveness of the integrated support provided for each service user and to plan further developments. Each service user is involved in the process through direct participation, consultation, or advocacy.
