We are looking for an individual with proven experience in the ability to deliver well planned educational programmes to young people with complex special needs. You will work with the Assistant Head and other relevant staff to deliver educational programmes that will include key life and educational skills.
You will work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team including education staff, care workers and psychologists, delivering an enjoyable experience for the students through the use of the curriculum. You will be dedicated to a small group of students; assessing, recording and reporting on their development, progress and attainment, consulting with parents and other agencies as and when appropriate.
Knowledge and experience of effective learning practices and, possibly, sensory interaction teaching skills aimed at post 16 learners will prove more important than your formal qualifications to apply to the post at the unqualified scale, though a minimum of GCSE in Maths and English or equivalent is essential. Essential to all though is knowledge of special needs along with excellent communication and proficient IT skills.
Your positive approach to our young people, who will at times be very demanding and challenging, will prove a stimulating and rewarding role for the right candidate.
